The path in Lake Meadows by the skate park floods every year and creates a swamp that becomes impossible for residents to navigate across without extreeme acrobatics, or impressive long jumping skills. Not only does the path flood, the surrounding grass is very muddy and slippery and is itself a hazard, especially after lots of people have used it to navigate around the path. For many local residents this can cause considerable inconvenience.
Local campaigner, Edward Sainsbury, is calling for Basildon Council and their Parks team to create a longer term solution to drain the swamp for good and prevent this becoming a recurring issue everytime there is a considerable amount of rain (which as we know, is quite often!).
