We are running a campaign to demand a better consultation from the council about the redevelopment of the Lake Meadows Swimming Pool.
The council's consultation suggests choosing between two plans that lack creativity (and don't seem to feature any resident input); asks questions based on current/typical use when the pool has been closed for 9 months (?!) and has not been promoted to residents well enough.
We believe the council can do better - if we're about to spend millions of taxpayer money on a new community facility then surely we should expect a better consultation with local residents than this?!
If you agree, I hope you'll add your signature to the petition below.

We, the undersigned, call on Basildon Council to
- run a comprehensive consultation with local residents in Billericay about the future of the Lake Meadows Swimming Pool;
- provide a genuine opportunity for local residents to engage with the process and provide suggestions about the facilities they would like to see in our community;
- promote any consultation to all residents (including those who are not online) to ensure everyone can participate;
and ensure this is done before the Council approves any proposed plans for the redevelopment.
Please Note: If you submit this form we will include your name and postcode when submitting the petition to Basildon Council.
