Essex County Council & Essex Highways are failing to keep our roads and pavements in a fit state of repair.
On Hillhouse Drive, at the turning with Stock Road there are several very large, deep potholes which have been growing for months without any effort to repair them.
Local campaigner, Edward Sainsbury, reported the potholes on 28th December 2020. An email from Essex Highways on January 13th said: "Our recent investigation of this issue has concluded that it is not as serious as many other issues we are aware of, so we won't be taking any further action on it."
This isn't good enough. It even looks like one of the potholes has been there long enough to have yellow lines painted over the top of it! Please sign our petition to get the County Council and Essex Highways to address this issue.
We, the undersigned, believe that Hillhouse Drive is in a significant state of disrepair and needs to be treated as a priority. We call upon the Council to do more to make our roads and pavements safer for us to use, without fear of injury or damage.
(Please report the potholes on the Essex Highways website here: www.essexhighways.org/transport-and-roads/tell-us/report-all-issues.aspx)
