Executive Elections:

If you are interested in standing you can submit your nomination in advance of the meeting by emailing info@btlibdems.co.uk with your name and the position(s) you would like to stand for. You can include the names and contact details for a proposer and secondor, or your nomination can be proposed and seconded at the meeting. Nominations can be received at the AGM as well.

If you would like to discuss what a position entails in more detail, email info@btlibdems.co.uk and we can arrange for you to discuss it with the existing office holder. 

Positions available:

The following must be filled:

Chair - chairs meetings, GDPR responsibility, public image of the local party, membership and finance management.

Treasurer - manage the local party finances and comply with the PPERA Regulations, act as or coordinate with the election Agent.

 

Ideally we would also have:

Vice Chair - campaigning leadership, leading on portfolio areas relevant to skillset & supporting Chair & Treasurer.

Data Officer - managing the local party data and feeding in to campaigning efforts.

Secretary - keeping meeting minutes, managing local party communication and local mailing lists.

Fundraising Officer - raising money for local campaign efforts through fundraising efforts.

Membership Officer - managing membership, looking to grow the membership and ensuring there are social events taking place to keep members engaged.

Diversity Officer - ensuring the local party is making proactive efforts to support and nurture diverse talent within the local party as well as reaching out to diverse communities within the local area.

Being on the Executive is fun, you should be willing to get stuck in. The aim is to meet monthly and ideally you would be able to give a couple of hours a month to helping campaigning or local party admin/fundraising/member recruitment etc. You should be open to learning new skills and being willing to get stuck in to improve the prospects of the local party.

 


 

Selections and Approval - Town, District and County Elections

We will be seeking to approve and select candidates* for the following seats at the AGM:

Essex County Council

You should express your interest in standing for one (or more) of these seats via email by midday on 24th November 2020. You can do so by emailing Peter Lancaster on pglancaster@outlook.com

Essex County Council - Basildon Westley Heights (1 Vacancy), Billericay & Burstead Ward (2 Vacancies), Laindon Park & Fryerns (2 Vacancies), Pitsea (2 Vacancies), Wickford Crouch (2 Vacancies)

*Any selection/approval by the AGM will be subject to a candidate passing the ECC candidates approval process.

Town and District Councils

To express an interest in standing for any of the following you should email info@btlibdems.co.uk by midday on 24th November 2020. 

Billericay Town Council - Vacancies in West (9 Vacancies), East (7 Vacancies) and South West (3 Vacancies)

Also, all vacancies in the following parish and town councils - Bowers Gifford & North Benfleet Parish Council; Great Burstead & South Green Village Council; Noak Bridge Parish Council; Ramsden Bellhouse Parish Council; Ramsden Crays Parish Council and Shotgate Parish Council. 

Thurrock Council - All Wards up for election in May 2021.

Basildon District Council - All Wards up for election in May 2021. [Please note: The Party's guidance says that those who were selected to stand for May 2020 should remain in place. There will be a vote to formally approve the selection of these candidates again for 2021 unless someone applies to contest one of those wards].
